Two people killed as strong winds batter central Europe

Strong winds battered central Europe on Sunday, reaching 180 kph in the Czech Republic, where two people were killed by falling trees.

The storm knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of households, Czech electricity utility CEZ said. Winds reached more than 100 kph in several parts of the country and topped out at 180 kph in Snezka, at 1,602 meters its highest mountain, Czech Television reported.
